Historic Sedgeley Club Boathouse

The Sedgeley Club Boathouse is an important historical landmark. Located in Philadelphia on the Schuylkill River’s Boathouse Row, this architectural treasure was built in 1903. Restored to its former glory, it now sports an exterior of Cedar Impressions® Polymer Shingle Siding from CertainTeed, a Saint-Gobain business unit universally recognized as an industry leader.

This is the first time a Cedar Impressions product has been applied to a building on the Nation Register of Historic Places. Because the structure is located on a river, it is especially vulnerable to water and wind, which is why the Philadelphia Historical Commission approved the use of this outstanding CertainTeed product over natural wood. Appearing like real cedar, each shingle features molded textures and patterns that include the look of saw-blade cuts. What’s old really is new again, with CertainTeed.
