Job Summary

The role will cover the Northern California territory.

In this role, you will be responsible for selling acoustical ceiling systems to distributors, contractors and architects through focused education, demonstrations, and promotions. Execute programs and strategies that differentiate company through extraordinary support and service that establishes and maintains CertainTeed as the preferred supplier within assigned sales territory. 

  • Operate in a safe and environmentally conscious manner; provide Exceptional Service and Quality to our customers.
  • Conduct effective ceiling product, system trainings, and presentations to architects and customers.
  • Conduct AIA presentations in the assigned territory.
  • Provide information such as product use, pricing, availability, and credit terms.
  • Investigate and provide solutions to customers regarding complaints with guidance from the Regional Sales Manager.
  • Maintain a database of architects, contractors, and distributors for the assigned territory.
  • Maintain reports regarding activities in your area through salesforce.com and other tools provided.

Required Qualifications

"Your Skills Matter" - What do you bring?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Sales, Architecture or Interior Design, Business Administration or equivalent training that will provide a thorough knowledge of the laws, regulations, and practices concerned with the field or marketing.  
  • 3 to 5 years of progressive sales experience in a ceilings or specialty ceilings (all interior products qualifies) related position. Ability to develop expertise in dealing with customers.
  • Must maintain a current knowledge of all aspects of sales and marketing through a program of continuing education and self-improvement.  
  • Key values include integrity, intelligence, and initiative.  
  • Requires proficiency in MS Office and other computer skill sets.
  • Desirable to have the ability to read and understand construction blueprints.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
