The Sr. Production Manager for Manufacturing Operations will lead all aspects of multiple Production Lines (Focus Factories) for Saint-Gobain Life Sciences' Medical Components manufacturing business in Portage, WI. Will provide overall direction of operational activities ensuring cost-effective & efficient operations. Will maximize profitability by ensuring a safe working environment, optimizing throughput, controlling costs, overseeing continuous improvement activities and maintaining quality standards.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Sr. Production Manager will assume greater accountabilities for the entire Plant Operations when needed on account of the planned succession growth for the leadership/site.

Key Accountabilities:

Planning and Operations: Manage, direct and coordinate all operations directly related to production: Manufacturing and Manufacturing Systems, Facilities and Maintenance and part quality.

  • Prepares production plans, budgets and CAPEX needs and report to appropriate management on actual performance vs. those plans.
  • Formulates and recommends manufacturing plans and policies that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its operations.

Personnel Development: Work with Human Resources to equip employees to achieve business goals and to foster career development and organizational succession plans. Establish a succession plan within the facility for key positions in plant operations.

  • Provides leadership and mentorship to managers and supervisors with regard to quality, safety, staffing, and employee relations.
  • Regularly provides feedback to all direct reports and performance manages as appropriate.

Technology Leadership: Identify inefficiencies in plant operations and drive systematic cost improvement and state-of-the-art processing through WCM program. Prepare and submit CAPEX projects to support efficiency improvements.

Safety and Communications: Ensure that the facility operates safely and in full environmental compliance.

  • Provides clear communication with workforce; ensure departmental work methods are compatible with company standards and customer requirements.
  • Ensure the compliance of safety, environmental, and quality guidelines and policies, as required by regulations and customer requirements

Required Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's Degree - Engineering, Science, Quality, Operations Management or Related Discipline; Required.

Master's Degree - Business, Engineering or Related Discipline; Preferred.

Experience:

10+ years of Progressive experience & exposure (with proven impact) within Manufacturing Operations (i.e. production, accounting/finance, quality, supply chain, EHS, et al).

7+ years of Management experience within Production Manufacturing capacity involving multiple/complex production lines.

Proven experience working within regulated environment with adherence/management of ISO, FDA, WCM, (et al) standards; Preferred.

Strong Leadership, Talent Development and Analytical Skills; Required.

Proficiency with computers, spreadsheet software, and business systems (i.e. QAD, Kronos, MS Office Excel, PowerPoint Word, etc.).

Ability to travel upwards of 10-20%; Required.
