Shift: 1st Shift, Monday - Friday, 6:30 am to 3:00pm

Pay: $22-$30/hr depending on experience level.

Impact: CNC Machinists set up, operate and troubleshoot CNC machines according to scheduled orders to produce quality machined parts for the Aerospace and Automotive industries. Machines include lathes, mills, grinders and manual tools.

The ideal candidate for this position can demonstrate the ability to:

  • Perform set-up for complex/advanced/non-routine jobs with little or no supervision
  • Use measuring equipment effectively such as micrometers and calipers
  • Work from written procedures and work routers
  • Dismantle jigs, tools, and special fixtures
  • Make tooling as necessary
  • Maintain drawing specifications by monitoring dimensional and visual characteristics to detect non-conformances
  • Handle raw material and hazardous waste safely and in an environmentally responsible manner
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (will consider candidates with considerable experience in lieu of education requirement)
  • 3 years of experience in CNC Machining for Mills and Lathes (Required)
  • 6+ months’ experience with CNC Certification and Training
  • Effective verbal/written communications skills and organizational skills
  • Must have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, good attendance, and flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Work in a manner that complies with all site policies and procedures, actively demonstrate SG principles of conduct & action, and adhere to all EHS requirements

Physical Demands:

  • Vision - important if color distinction, visual inspection, measuring/assembling at distance close to eye is essential to the job
  • Reading and Writing - Expressing or receiving detailed information by nonverbal means
  • Climb/Balance - important if the amount and kind of climbing or balancing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion
  • Bend/Stoop/Kneel/Crouch/Crawl -important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles
  • Standing/Walking: Particularly for sustained periods of time
  • Sitting: Particularly for sustained periods of time
  • Finger/Grasp/Handle/Feel: Working, primarily with fingers
  • Talk/Hear: Expressing or receiving detailed information by means of the spoken word
  • Repetitive Motions: Substantial movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
