What’s the job?

This position will work with the Regional Sales Manager, Central and sales to enhance job tracking on key projects with key contractors and you will become a contractor resource for technical information and architectural support. You will also provide support on job claims and coordinate communications through the technical department and develop technical and product training programs both internal and external.

 

  • Identifying profitable construction projects; target markets; and influential architects, specifiers, etc. with need for value added products
  • Specification of CertainTeed Gypsum products in the Master Spec within the job tracking scope.
  • Monitor code changes in the field and change in application / installation processes
  • Supports New Product Development launch(es) in the field for education and proper usage.
  • Responsible to attend any major technical claims (over $10k) on site and provide technical assistance and provide scope of work and associated costs.
  • Working with other CertainTeed businesses to support commercial product knowledge and assist architects in project designs as required.
  • Assist sales by providing technical support on major projects to ensure the CertainTeed is specified on the project.
  • Develops and maintains knowledge of competitive products, including their technical aspects, product features and advantages in terms of customer usage, competitive strengths, weaknesses, performance qualities.
  • Maintains adequate Dodge reporting or comparable construction news bulletins on construction activity within the region and taking full advantage of these publications in the efficient promotion of assigned product line.

 

Reports to: Sales Regional Manager, Central

Location: Remote

Travel: Primarily travel by car.  Up to 40% overnight travel

Supervisory responsibility: No direct reports


Required Qualifications

What do you bring?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Marketing, Sales or Business Administration, or five (5) years of equivalent training and experience that provides thorough knowledge of the laws, regulations and practices concerned with the field of construction
  • Five to seven (5-7) years of progressive marketing and sales experience to develop expertise in working with customers
  • Understanding of codes and system installation processes
  • Prefer experience in the installation of drywall and ability to read blueprint
  • OSHA 10 required within 4 months of hirer and renewed every 5 years.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage a major sales territory and demonstrate leadership capabilities with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have or be willing to pursue CSI certifications as CDT (Certified Document Technician) and CCPR (Certified Construction Product Representation) along with LEED Green Associate status.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
