What’s the job?

In this role, your major objective is to support the profitable sales growth of CertainTeed’s portfolio of gypsum products and systems by generating sustained demand within your territory.  This is accomplished through sales and promotional activities targeted at positioning CertainTeed as the preferred choice among contractor and distribution customers.

• Your territory includes Southern, OH & Northern, KY. The ideal area to be located is the Cincinnati, OH area.
• You will develop effective working relationships with distribution yard managers (up to 60% of time), contractors (up to 30% of time), and architects/specifiers (up to 5% of time) creating “pull-through” demand. Subsequently working with distribution customers to close related sales.

• Will I be traveling? Yes! The majority of your time will be spent at customer sites in the field visiting with existing and prospective customers and influencers.  Your travel will mostly be via your company car (yes – company car is included!!).  About 30% will include overnight travel.

Required Qualifications

What do you bring?

• Requires a Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study, or the equivalent training which will provide a working knowledge of the regulations, practices and procedures concerned with outside sales activities for the construction industry. With this experience, the minimum requirement is a high school diploma.

• Three plus years of related experience in applying this knowledge in daily sales activities such as managing customer relationship, sales presentations and the closing of sales.

• OSHA 10 required to be completed within 4 months of employment and then taken every 5 years.

• Negotiation skills, problem solving abilities, and presentation skills a must.

• Proficiencies in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
