Senior Product Development Engineer – PV Technology Lead

The Sr. Product Development Engineer has primary responsibility for:
- Working with external partners, participating in the development of new solar roofing products including material selection, process definition, cost analysis, certification, and product launch;
- Overseeing developmental runs and product builds at external manufacturers which may include developing run plans, coordinating the delivery of materials, testing and analyzing results; being in-person when necessary; supporting manufacturing scale-up
- Development of next generation solar tile product; development of materials, structure, and process; establishing and driving material R&D roadmap; establishing and leading collaborations internally and with external partners
- Travel to partners, suppliers, manufacturers, Saint-Gobain sites, test sites, and installation sites, both domestic and international;
- Keeping abreast of new technologies and market developments in the industry and determine the impact on our products and programs; incorporate these developments into our plans where appropriate;
- Actively identifying and pursuing potential IP for Saint-Gobain while staying current with IP of competitors
The position is located in Northboro, MA, about 45mins outside of Boston, however remote position is possible. Travel is expected to be approximately 30%.

Required Qualifications
Requirements:
- degree in materials engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, or other related disciplines
- 8+ years new product development experience
- experience managing development projects with external partners
- demonstrated project management experience
- experience with solar cell and solar panel manufacturing preferred
- knowledge of certification for photovoltaic systems preferred
