This is a leadership position, reporting directly to the Plant Manager with overall responsibility for the planning and execution of all distribution functions for the Hagerstown MD plant and off site warehouses from receiving through accurate, on-time and damage free delivery to customers and sister plants. The primary function initially will be project management associated with a warehouse expansion locally. This role leads warehouse planning and analysis; metric development and achievement; oversees 3rd party fleet operations, ensures optimal material handling efficiencies – working with demand and supply planning; warehouse supervisors, Claremont and Jackson plants and purchasing creates a collaborative approach to achieve cost and warehouse performance plans across the siding extrusion warehouse locations. Identifies material handling efficiency and cost reduction opportunities to achieve continuously evolving service and cost targets across the siding warehouse network. Creates CAPEX requests and leads projects. Is the material handling subject matter expert for the SPG warehouses – includes World Class Manufacturing tool and pillar leadership; handling equipment expertise, racking, goods packaging and pallets. Has oversight responsibility for receiving (external, production) put away, picking, shipping and returns processing and service expediting.
-Has deep understanding of Distribution Operations with broad latitude to make decisions that drive business improvements
-Understands DOT and fleet metrics; warehousing, material handling equipment, drives
innovation in warehouse, material handling and customer delivery.
-Leads cross functional and distribution operations employees on complex problem solving teams.
• BS or BA in logistics, business or 10-15 years of experience – demonstrating the ability to develop supervisors and managers
• At least 5-8 years of complex distribution operations experience in a medium size distribution organization
• Experience with multi-product complex full truckload shipping • Project Management oversight experience
• Some Manufacturing distribution experience
