What’s the Job?
Under the supervision of the Regional Manager, this position is accountable for sales and market development to achieve the profit objectives and market share goals for all EPS products, and in conjunction with short- and long-range strategies.

The District Sales Manager will provide significant and unique sales contributions through sales leadership and by promoting and servicing CertainTeed products and programs to building materials distributors, dealers, remodelers, builders, and architects consistent with company Sales and Marketing objectives and in accordance with company policies and procedures. 

Implements and executes Marketing strategies and differentiates self through extraordinary support and service so that CertainTeed becomes and maintains a preferred supplier status in the assigned district, while attaining maximum market share and profitability possible within same.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership that includes coaching, training, and development of TM’s.
  • Develop and manage distributor relationships; close support of distributor sales initiatives. Drive pull-through selling to contractors.
  • Manage relations of high level decision makers and influencers at major accounts.
  • Timely feedback to marketing regarding market opportunities, competitive intelligence, product requirements.
  • Deliver effective presentations and demonstrations emphasizing customer benefits.
  • Strategic account planning and collaborative development with TM’s.
  • Responsible for annual sales and profitability targets (may include other goals—product mix, market share, distribution and pricing decisions).
  • Provide sales forecasts monthly to Regional Manager and logistics group.
  • Analyzes market, customer, and product mix to optimize effectiveness.
  • Escalate and resolve pricing, product, service issues internally.
  • Plans and organizes promotional programs with TM execution.
  • Manage budget for district and TM expense budgets that include T&E and SSP.
  • Develop agenda and conduct regular district coaching meetings.
  • Manage local sales territory.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8-10 years progressive experience in sales and/or marketing. 
  • Strong knowledge and demonstrated success selling through distribution channels. 
  • Ability to prioritize and organize.
  • Superior leadership and coaching skills, competitive spirit, and desire to win. 
  • Strong strategic-thinking and decision-making capabilities necessary. 
  • A proven track record of consistently meeting and exceeding sales targets, penetrating new markets and developing new business.
