Under the supervision of the Project Engineer, the position is accountable for overseeing manufacturing and technical projects and process improvements. Position will assist with the development and implementation of World Class Manufacturing projects, production and processing methods. Through application of engineering fundamentals and process control statistical tools, will ensure processes are centered, capable and in control; reduce process variations; and resolve special causes of variation. The position is also accountable for ensuring safety and environmental compliances.

This position requires frequent and prolonged periods of standing and sitting, and the ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
This position is located within a vinyl siding manufacturing facility, which may be noisy and dusty and subject to temperature fluctuations – heat in summer, cold in winter.
The position may be required to travel to attend training, seminars and CertainTeed functions. Must comply with all safety requirements including use of the personal protection equipment required for this position – eye, ear, and head protection.
The position works under the parameters as defined by CertainTeed, local, state, and government policies and procedures. The position is expected to develop and implement new innovative systems, and to create continuity between departments. The position will support and carry out the general objectives and goals of the Claremont Manufacturing Plant. The position must perform self-directed employee referring decisions of large magnitude to the Project Engineer and Plant Manager for approval.
The position must have an in-depth background in technical or electrical engineering. The position must possess excellent communication skills to tactfully deal with a diverse group of people. The position must have the ability to analyze and comprehend technical and electrical drawings and documents, possess strong PLC skills and general business knowledge. This knowledge and skill would typically be obtained through formal education such as a BS in engineering, or other technical discipline.
