This position will be primarily focused on providing HR expertise and guidance to the Leadership Team to create and maintain a healthy and engaging work environment.  This position is also responsible for the implementation and administration of a wide range of Human Resources programs. This includes, but is not limited to employee relations, benefits, recruiting, Human Resource Information Systems, compensation, training, employee retention and engagement. Must have depth of knowledge in State and Federal employment laws including Wage & Hour. In addition, the HR Manager will collaborate with and support the Corporate Human Resource team on the implementation of strategic HR programs and carrying out HR initiatives. This position reports to the Plant Manager and will play an integral role on the Site Management Team in helping to achieve business goals and objectives.


Essential Functions

Providing counseling to the Site Leadership Team on various Human Resources topics to support moving the business forward.  The person in this position is responsible for employee relations, recruitment and staffing at all levels, workforce planning, benefit administration, hourly and non-exempt pay systems (Kronos), Human Resource Information Systems, communications, training and development, discipline, diversity programs and community relations. This position is responsible for the wage, salary, benefits and for overseeing the annual processes for exempt, non-exempt and hourly employees for merit and bonus. Strict adherence and a commitment carrying out the Corporate and legal policies and regulations in these areas is required. This position must focus on needs and expectations of employees while maintaining a balance with company directives and the vision of the business. When needed, this position will conduct thorough HR investigations when employee situations demand.

Lead the development, dissemination, implementation and interpretation of personnel policies and their implementation at the site, providing consultation to the management team on leadership initiatives.  Provide independent insight into the impact of such initiatives on personnel.

Work with the plant manager and staff to lead the development of a training procedure for the site and establish and maintain associated training documentation, using Lean tools and processes under the People Development Pillar.  Work with management team to develop and deliver required training and employee growth programs for new and existing employees, including development and implementation of new employee orientation and training program.  Administer all new employee orientations.

Communicate and coordinate the delivery of benfits, including managing the annual Open Enrollment process.

Oversee the local employment process including recruitment, selection, placement, development, compensation, corrective action, discipline and termination, including the use of temporary employees.   

Work closely with the Central Talent Acquisition Team on sourcing and recruiting. Support hiring managers in the identification of needs, writing accurate & thorough job descriptions and following a robust process to ensure a high level of candidate care.

Maintain HRIS systems ensuring accurate data and any/all changes processed in a timely manner. Audit data on regular basis related to HRIS, Kronos and Training information.

Provide HR reporting  as requested by site management, maintain reporting for any local, federal, state requirements. Monitor and manage risk associated with local, state, and federal laws.

Required Qualifications

An employee in this position must focus on customers' expectations and strive for continuous improvement resulting in improved results for themselves, customers, and other employees.


Bachelor’s Degree – Human Resources Management, Business or equivalent, required.

Master’s Degree – MBA or Equivalent, preferred. 

5+ years’ experience in Human Resources, including proven experience in a manufacturing environment, required.

3+ years management experience, required.
