Regional Construction Specialist

Position Description

Job Summary


The Construction Business Unit has a great opportunity for a Regional Construction specialist who will be directly responsible for providing technical support and training to our distribution network; including major regional opportunities with specific responsibilities and focus at the independent and national account level.  This person will be able to apply the skill, know-how, and experience in the areas of product performance and product application to accelerate sales for both the BU and Construction Channel. The incumbent will also play a critical role in supporting our direct employees and local rep agency in delivering accelerated Construction BU and Channel sales growth.

Essential Functions:

  • Construction BU Development
  • Will be directly responsible for providing technical support and training to distribution and end user network (supporting local field team, both direct and indirect)
  • Help to execute sales wins with major regional opportunities, with specific focus to the CP business unit.
  • Be able to apply the skill, know-how, and experience in the areas of Diamond and Equipment application to exhibit our products performance based on our customers’ needs and compared to our competition.
  • Work closely with the CP Business unit to ensure we are meeting designated needs of marketplace
  • The incumbent will also train the sales team and respective rep agents for their specific market on all CP products, applications, and support tools.
  • This position functions in a critical space to support ambitious growth initiatives.

  • The overall mission of this position is to travel a large geography in the assigned territory in support of our selling efforts to drive accelerated growth to the Construction Channel and specifically the CP Business Unit.


  • Customer Partnership Development
  • Support and grow our existing base of business with existing and new customers.


  • Intracompany coordination
  • Analyze existing specifications of product to determine suitability for battery powered market and improvements to current offering as needed.
  • Collaborate with other channel market managers to benchmark needs, opportunities, and solutions to ensure BU growth.

Required Qualifications

This role requires excellent motivation and customer management skills to set objectives, influence, internal and external stakeholders and lead.  Ability to effectively prepare, communicate and implement plans/strategies. Requires ability to recognize and visualize market direction, and opportunities to influence business planning accordingly.  Requires well developed and exhibited oral, written presentation skills as well as exceptional selling skills. This role requires an intuitive nature, strong passion, and dedicated work ethic.  Matrixed reporting relationship, multi-product organization, highly ambitious and attention to detail are critical.  Collaboration required. Bias towards action and results focused.
