Position Description

Job Summary

Position Summary: This position assists with the design and development of new products and the improvement of existing products. Ensures customer requirements are met through parts design through gaining Design/Drawing approval. Acts as a central resource for documentation control for new and existing products.

Essential Job Functions: Other duties may be assigned. As the engineering designer/drafter, you will work to resolve issues and solve problems in the design area. This position will also require you to create detailed technical drawings and 3D models. Details of job responsibilities are listed below:

  • Work with Design/Application engineers and other personnel to implement print standards and document control procedures.
  • Support Engineering to layout the design concept from rough draft or detailed sketches from NPI (New Project Introduction) request form.
  • Prepare clear, complete, and accurate detail drawings with all critical dimensions necessary for manufacturing.
  • Complete assembly drawings with schematic diagrams and engineering performance specifications.
  • Support Marketing with Customer Drawings and related design information for Catalog data sheets.
  • Record engineering design changes and perform ECO (Engineering Change Order) process.
  • Responsible for engineering drawings releases and distribution.

 

 

 


Required Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Associate of Arts Degree in Engineering, Drafting, Design, Graphic Arts, or related field or equivalent related experience
  • 3-5 years drafting experience of using Computer Aided Design softwares
  • (Pro-E primary, Solidworks secondary)   
  • Solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with Engineering terminology GD&T.
  • Be able to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and pneumatics/ hydraulics schematics symbols.
  • Good analytical & technical skills with ability to complete basic mathematical calculations to support product design activities
  • Excellent communication (Verbal & Written) and interpersonal skills needed to interact with all cross functional areas of business.
  • Multi-tasking skills are required to manage multiple requests and various project activities. 
  • Design and optimization of mechanical components for Electronics Solutions. Components include Valves, Manifolds, Pumps and Fittings etc. (preferable).
