Position Description

Job Summary


You will be the right hand of the Site Controller and help it in its functions. The goal is to contribute to keep the accounting and financial processes of the company up to standard and ensure accurate financial reporting and control. Reach the deadlines in the main monthly and annual deadlines. Be a real financial support on the operational part of the income statement. Maintain up-to-date reporting and analyze the sources of discrepancy. Be proactive in order to avoid potential errors or variances. Be proactive to maintain or improve the profitability of the Site while respecting the Principles of Conduct and Action supported by the Saint Gobain Group (Professional Commitment, respect for others, Integrity, Loyalty, Solidarity, Respect for the law, caring for the environment, worker health and safety, employee rights).


The Assistant Site Controller will help the Site Controller to coordinate, perform and consolidating the annual budget, RF1 and RF3 forecast, strategic plan process at the site and providing accurate explanations of significant variances, including analysis of actual vs. prior year, budget and/or forecast. Focus on timely month-end results/reporting, attention to detail is an absolute must, providing factual data in order to quickly identify problem areas.

The Assistant Site Controller will help the site controller to processes of the month-end close to ensure alignment of the corporate deadlines. Perform the annual standard cost development process for the site(s) to ensure transparency of product cost (contribution & gross margins).

The Assistant Site Controller will also help the Site Controller to provide all analyses necessary to a good understanding of the business performance, for example price, volume and mix analysis, tracking of labor costs, control of fixed expenses and monitoring of non-quality costs, inventory levels against service levels, etc.

He must be a person in the field, regularly in the plant to understand the different stages of the process and be close to the operational managers in order to provide them with the details required to improve their costs.


Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree preferably in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university

Masters Degree in Accounting or Finance desired

Desired: 7+ years of experience in a Manufacturing environment as a Cost Accountant or Controller; experience in Financial and/or Operational Analyst roles

Month-end close in QAD, DSS inputs, reconciliations/upload to Blackline (preparer roles), coordinating & preparing internal financial reporting (Monthly GM report – Operational analysis of scrap, MUV, PPV, labor & overhead cost/variances, Inventory analysis, weekly Report at the local level, etc.).


Help the Site Controller to establishing and maintaining updated the annual completion of the ICRF gap analysis & ensure the execution of action plans, adherence - Segregation of Duties, system/access controls are in place. Evaluate site internal controls (review of Mobility/LS/HPS policies, purchasing authorities, etc. to ensure alignment with internal controls).  Assessing current accounting processes, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new innovative processes.


Support the Site Controller during annual plan, budget & standard cost development process. Proactively interact with supervisors, plant leadership team to ensure all parties have a clear and accurate picture of the plant’s overall financial performance. Proactively researching issues – anticipating opportunities and providing answers & insight to key questions before they are asked. Analyzing the Cost variances with operational managers


Support WCM initiatives (participation in Kaizens, problem-solving events) ensuring countermeasures, projects are defined with clear financial objectives & results are tracked and reported accordingly. Check that the saving precalculated by the engineers are reliable.
