Position Description

Job Summary

This position is responsible for a full range of account management activities associated with developing, expanding and servicing large industrial accounts and industrial distribution.  Account base has significant competitive potential in many industries.  This position will have responsibility for selling abrasives in many different forms including grinding wheels and sandpaper under the Norton brand name.  Look around your home or office, most items you see are touched by an abrasive product.  This territory is ripe with opportunities including grinding, sanding and polishing applications.  Collaboration with our distributor partners is critical and must be a focus to succeed in this territory.  This includes planning, joint sales calls and training.  Territory accounts can be demanding and require strategic, focused planning and execution.  The candidate must be as comfortable testing a product with a machine operator as they are presenting a cost savings plan to a large multi-national corporation and/or a company president.  This is a high profile territory within the Saint-Gobain organization that will give the salesperson visibility within the sales organization and provide ample opportunity for sales success and promotion into larger positions.

Required Qualifications

Interested candidates should have 5 or more years of proven sales growth managing an array of large accounts and distribution. A strong technical aptitude is required for learning new products and abrasive applications.  Candidate must be organized, disciplined and have effective time and territory management skills.  An undergraduate degree in business or engineering is desired however other degrees will be considered.  This position requires a person who is highly motivated, team oriented and is capable of managing a complex sales territory with limited supervision. Bilingual in Spanish would be a plus but not required.  Proficiency in Microsoft office, Salesforce, web applications, contact management and other forms of data analysis is necessary.

Additional Description

This position resides in the heart of Southern Wisconsin. The salesperson should reside in the greater Milwaukee area.  This will allow for easy access to the highways to travel West to Madison.  Milwaukee is a delightful city of neighborhoods which has seen a resurgence over the last five years including new downtown development centered around the Milwaukee Bucks NBA arena.   Milwaukee is known for its festivals and seldom a weekend will pass without a large neighborhood or ethnic festival, including Summer Fest.  Milwaukee is rated in top 100 cities to live.  Wisconsin has an outdoor culture centered around the many lakes and rivers.
