Saint-Gobain SageGlass is looking for a Software Engineer who will be a key contributor to the product engineering group in SageGlass operations, combining knowledge of the product design and manufacturing process to implement new products in factory software systems. This person will interface with engineering teams in both R&D and Operations to translate evolving product requirements into machine instructions. This person will also develop and then be the primary support for several production applications related to electrochromic device manufacture, control, and switching.
This position requires working closely with a cross-functional team of engineers to collaboratively develop and refine requirements by understanding both the product design and the manufacturing process. This person must be able to balance multiple projects, responsibilities, and priorities while meeting agreed upon deliverables. They must be capable of working independently to produce scalable solutions which adhere to best practices and internal standards.
On occasion, off-hours support may be needed for production critical systems support as well as software upgrades, which are scheduled in advance with a vendor other members of the team.
Essential Functions include:
- VG File Development and Software Support
- HVM Process Software Development and Support
- B.S. Degree in Engineering or Computer Science required
- 1-3 years of hands on sftware development required
- 1-3 years hand on system support required
- 1-3 years project management preferred
- Working knowledge of various database technologies (MySQL, Oracle, Postgres, Redis, SQLite, SQL Server) required
- Familiarity with CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD) and principles of mechanical drafting preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication required
- Project Management Experience preferred
